Located in an isolated hamlet at 1200 m in altitude, the Montivon Chapel was built around 1660. All the inhabitants participated financially, but the patronage, meaning the responsibility to provide the money for its protection and upkeep, was provided by the Roch-Gindre family. Its patron saints are Saint Felix and Saint Roch, the latter protecting against the plague.
The chapel was built parallel to the slope, much like several houses in the valley
