Climbing

Saint-Gervais has 5 major outdoor climbing sites: 3 sectors in Le Fayet, particularly around the Parc Thermal, 1 sector known as the “Villette”, near the hamlet of Champel or the Lac du Vivier, and the legendary Bionnassay cliff above the access road to the hamlet of the same name.

These climbing sites offer climbers of all levels a wide choice of routes and environments in which to indulge their passion. From the most accessible levels, such as 3ᵉ or 4ᵉ degree in the initiation sector cliff, to extreme levels such as 9ᵉ degree (Bionnassay cliff), the cliffs located in Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc are maintained and equipped in partnership with the Compagnie des Guides!

With a variety of types and geological compositions, each climbing site offers users a different climbing experience! Some sites are ideal for climbing on hot summer days, as they face north and are sometimes close to streams or sheltered by dense vegetation… Other sites are better suited to colder or wetter days, as the rock dries more quickly thanks to their more southerly exposure.
