During his research and creative residency in Saint-Gervais in the winter of 2025–2026, artist Adrien Fricheteau wished to continue his research on landscape as a motif and on his painting-objects.

Oscillating between painting and sculpted objects, his works evoke both the icons of domestic altarpieces and the polyptychs of modern painting. Faced with the mountain landscapes in which the residency takes place, Adrien Fricheteau questions the notion of the sublime, the grandiose and the artificial. Man-made landscapes, disseminated by the thousands on social media and the connected world of images today, Adrien Fricheteau's painted landscapes invite us to take the time to observe them through the skylight of their wooden frame.
