In his latest novel, Mon oncle d'Australie (My Uncle from Australia), published by Grasset in January, François Garde explores the themes of family secrets, things left unsaid and wilful forgetfulness. In his family, he hears about Uncle Marcel, who was exiled to Australia by his father at the age of twenty in 1900. Keen to discover the story of this mysterious uncle, the author conducts an investigation combining narrative, fiction and reflection.
