A lecture by Geneviève Chiapusio, Professor at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc.
Plants, anchored to their substrate, are known to produce a rich diversity of chemical molecules that are specific to them. These molecules enable plants to defend themselves against attacks from parasites, attract pollinating insects, or interact with other plants and microorganisms, thereby communicating with other organisms in their environment. Some plants can even resist pollution. Come and discover the chemical language of plants in different environments and its many applications, particularly in the face of environmental change.
