Three gentle, poetic stories in which young heroes spread their wings. A tiny bird challenges one larger than itself, a young monk follows a sparrow beyond the temple, a curious little girl dreams of freedom... Each, in their own way, listens to their heart and sets off to discover the world. A tender and inspiring program for young children that celebrates curiosity, freedom, and childhood.
Program:
The Eagle and the Wren (6'): The Bird World must elect its ruler. The golden eagle steps forward, certain that he is the only one worthy of the throne. No bird dares to challenge him... except the tiny wren. With a trembling but bold voice, he also claims the crown. Amused, the eagle challenges him: whoever flies the highest will become king.
Sparrows (11'): In a Buddhist temple, young monks begin their meditation under the watchful eye of their master. But one of them, captivated by a sparrow, becomes distracted and follows it out of the monastery. This simple flight becomes the beginning of a journey that takes him far beyond the temple, to discover the world. Years pass and when he returns, aged and filled with wisdom, he finds other young monks meditating. One of them, in turn, spots a sparrow...
The Princess and the Nightingale (26'): Six-year-old Cerise lives under the protective wing of her parents on their large estate. Passionate about birds, she is unaware that her father is preventing her from spreading her wings. Everything changes on her seventh birthday, when she receives a pair of binoculars. She then discovers Fleur, the gardener's daughter, who freely explores the estate. Fascinated by her story about an unknown bird, the nightingale, Cerise has only one dream: to find it.
