For Artocène 2025, Panos Profitis proposes a site-specific work at Mont d'Arbois. He imagines an athletic body becoming landscape.
Born in Greece in 1988, Panos Profitis lives and works in Athens. Panos Profitis' practice is rooted in movement, ritual, the body and the human condition. Starting with fragments referencing Hellenistic sculpture, he often works with industrial materials and fabricates objects that he activates through performance. He creates creatures that belong to a
utopian sphere whose bodies intrude on the urban landscape, posing a contradiction with the works themselves.
The 4th edition of Artocène offers an exhibition trail between 580m and 1,800m altitude. This artistic trek takes you on a discovery of singular exhibitions on the theme of the evolution of the body and in relation to the landscape. Twelve international artists have created works in situ in unusual locations: immersive installations, videos, sculptures, etc.
With the artists: Rebecca Allen, Cécile B. Evans, Loucia Carlier, Giulia Cenci, Amandine Guruceaga, Camille Henrot, Oliver Laric, Nefeli Papadimouli, Panos Profitis, Hugo Servanin, Yan Tomaszewski, Zhang Yunyao
and Aurélien Dougé
