Alizée Gaillard invites you to the opening of her exhibition: TEXTILE HORIZONS.
She is an artist at the crossroads of contemporary textile art and landscape. She composes paintings using old fabrics, recycled and dyed by her, where mountains become material, texture, and relief.
Her work is part of a contemporary approach to patchwork, diverted from its decorative function to become a plastic language in its own right. Fragment by fragment, the textiles are cut, assembled, and sewn by hand in a slow and precise gesture, where sewing replaces drawing and where the material brings out the landscape.
Inspired by alpine reliefs and natural horizons, Alizée Gaillard does not seek faithful representation, but rather a sensitive evocation of the territory. Her works explore the memory of places, the silent power of mountain peaks, and the dialogue between time, material, and light.
Through a committed approach combining craftsmanship and upcycling, she offers a poetic and contemporary interpretation of the landscape, where each painting becomes a reinvented fragment of the mountains.
