The Battendier family and another 20 heads of village families were the impetus behind the creation of this chapel in 1480.
In the middle ages, the hamlet of Bionnassay had the largest population in Saint-Gervais, yet it was also one of the furthest from the village centre. The
road to the parish church was difficult, especially in winter, and that is why a chapel was founded in 1480. The Battendier family and another 20 or so
heads of village families were the impetus behind this creation.

The current edifice dates back to the beginning of the 17th century. Saint Laurence and Saint Madeline are its patron saints. It contains several paintings
