As part of the Fête de la science, join the SITOM for a composting workshop and make a tawashi sponge! Find out how composting works and give old socks a new lease of life by turning them into a reusable sponge. Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon, on the Promenade du Mont-Blanc in Saint-Gervais.

As part of the Fête de la science, the SITOM invites you to take part in two workshops exploring simple ways to help the environment. Discover the basics of composting: which waste can go in a compost bin? How does compost form, and how can mature compost be used? You’ll also learn about the tiny creatures that live in the compost. In the tawashi workshop, turn old socks into a reusable sponge while learning about textile reuse and recycling.
