Experience the excitement of the UTMB® in Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc! As the race’s second aid station, the town comes alive starting at 7:30 p.m. to welcome the first runners and share in the excitement of the ultra-trail around Mont Blanc.

Every year, the UTMB® attracts the world’s best ultra-trail runners to the trails around Mont Blanc. This legendary race, starting in Chamonix, features a 171-km course with nearly 10,000 m of elevation gain through France, Italy, and Switzerland. Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc is a must-see stop on the race route: the town hosts the race’s second aid station, where runners stop to refuel before continuing their incredible adventure around Mont Blanc. On this occasion, the center of Saint-Gervais transforms into a true celebration! Entertainment, a sporty atmosphere, and cheers mark the runners’ passage and invite residents and visitors alike to experience the excitement of the UTMB® up close with the runners. The first competitors are expected to arrive starting at 7:30 p.m. Come out in large numbers to cheer them on and enjoy the exceptional atmosphere of this evening dedicated to trail running and pushing one’s limits!

Tips
In conjunction with the UTMB®, traffic restrictions will be in place on Friday, August 28, to ensure the safety of the runners and manage traffic flow. From 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., access to Saint-Gervais by car will be closed to those without a pass, particularly from Le Fayet and Megève. Roads will also be closed in certain areas of Val Montjoie.

To fully enjoy the event, it is therefore strongly recommended that you use public transportation. Several options are available:

- From Le Fayet:
The Le Valléen gondola provides direct access to downtown Saint-Gervais. As a special exception, it will be free for both the outbound and return trips from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
Another option is the Thermes elevator, which provides easy access to downtown.

- From Passy: Park-and-ride facilities are available, notably on Avenue Joseph Thoret and at the Mountain Store (170 Avenue Léman Mont-Blanc). UTMB Bus shuttles will then take you to the Le Valléen departure station in Le Fayet.

Be sure to plan ahead and take advantage of these options to reach Saint-Gervais stress-free and enjoy the festivities surrounding the UTMB® race.
