But Mont-Blanc also offers a multitude of hiking opportunities in a beautiful and generous natural environment. Numerous trails are accessible in summer and winter, whether you’re on your own, with your partner, friends or family. Hiking facing Mont Blanc

Spring, summer and autumn are the perfect seasons to discover the flora and fauna of the Mont Blanc region. Numerous hiking itineraries are available. Whatever your level, you’ll find a trail to suit you.

Le Mont-Joly

This hiking route takes you to the summit of Mont-Joly at an altitude of 2525m. Arriving at the summit, you’ll have the chance to observe a 360° panorama of Mont-Blanc, the Beaufortain, the Aravis and the Fiz.

The more athletic can start the hike from Le Bettex. First take the Chateluy trail towards Mont d’Arbois. Then head for Mont-Joux and on to the Mont-Joly refuge. Finally, take the final ascent and admire the view. The return journey takes the same route.

For added convenience, choose to take the gondola from Saint-Gervais to Mont d’Arbois. You’ll save 1h15 on the way up and 1h on the way down.

The hike is also accessible from Saint-Nicolas de Véroce and the Plateau de la Croix, via the refuge and the hamlet of Porcherey

La Tête de Charme

The famous Tramway du Mont-Blanc is the starting point. Get off at the Col de Voza. Off you go, for an easy hike, towards the path that passes under the ski lift. Then head for La Charme. This hiking trail forms a loop. Once you’ve arrived at the Hôtel du Prarion, head back down towards the Col de Voza to rejoin the TMB.

L’alpage de Miage

Start off on the famous Tramway du Mont-Blanc. Get off at the Col de Voza. Off you go, for an easy hike, towards the path that passes under the ski lift. Then head for La Charme. This hiking trail forms a loop. Once you’ve reached the Hôtel du Prarion, head back down towards the Col de Voza to rejoin the TMB.

 

Family hiking

Family hiking is a great way to get together. In this respect, Mont-Blanc offers an exceptional setting for walks suitable for all ages. Come and meet the animals of the mountain pastures on fun trails that will appeal to young and old alike. Some professionals also offer rides with a donkey porter: guaranteed success with your little ones. You can also discover themed hikes, such as Charlotte the marmot’s trail.

In the footsteps of the first guides

This hike takes as its theme the history of mountaineering. From Champel, head into the village, then head for Bionnassay. Along the way, explanatory panels take you through the history of the Guides. On this well-marked itinerary, you’ll pass through forests and pastures, see torrents and admire glaciers and the Aiguilles. Picnic tables are available along your route for a few well-deserved breaks.

 

The must-do Tour du Mont-Blanc

The Tour du Mont-Blanc is one of the most beautiful treks in the world. It features 155 km of hiking and 8500 meters of ascent. It takes between 7 and 10 days to complete. On this journey, you cross 3 countries: France, Italy and Switzerland. This complete loop around Mont Blanc is a favorite with nature lovers.

During the route, you’ll marvel at the sumptuous mid-mountain landscapes. The discovery of bucolic trails, mountain refuges and wildlife is a highlight of this famous hike. Not to mention the heart-warming human encounters.
